Gas prices were far different when this beauty was built. A vintage Nash Ambassador is parked next to a Kihei gas station sign that shows where prices reached Wednesday. According to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch released Thursday, the average state gas price is now $3.99 a gallon for regular unleaded, one cent higher than a week ago, 10 cents higher than a month ago and 80 cents higher than the average last year on the same date. Lihue led the state with an average price of $4.20, followed by Hilo at $4.05, Kahului at $4 and Honolulu at $3.92.
