REAL PHOTOGRAPHS; INACCURATE DESCRIPTION

Example:   [Collected via e-mail, 2006]

Interesting - two images of the recent shuttle launch as seen from the International Space Station.

Origins:   The above-displayed photographs do capture the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis (NASA Mission STS-115) from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on 9 September 2006. However, the pictures were not (as claimed in the accompanying text) taken from the International Space Station (ISS), which would be at a considerably higher altitude than shown here, but rather from NASA/JSC WB-57 High Altitude Research aircraft.
